Ms. Lauren Hill was very disappointing
I wish I had stayed home to see Ms. Disney On Ice for the 20th anniversary of Miseducation (one of my fav albums of all time). I heard that she has a track record of unreliability when it comes to her live performances - super-late, not singing recognizable renditions of her songs, etc. but I was hoping that she got her act together for this one. The concert (in Phoenix) was slated to start at 6:30pm - Ms. Hill didn't appear on stage until 10:06pm! She had 2 up-and-coming rappers as opening acts who were mediocre at best - it was really strange to have rappers - Lauren is known for hip-hop, reggae, R&B style, not rap - I didn't make sense to me. At least the DJs were good, they should receive the majority of the profits from this show. When she finally got on stage, she was yelling and rapping her songs instead of singing them - the songs were unrecognizable and we couldn't sing to them because we didn't know what she was singing. Unbelievable and ridiculously disrespectful to the fans! We were so upset and disappointed that we left during her 3rd song. I will never buy a ticket to see Ms. Lauren Hill again - very sad.
